I am totally shocked by this sad news.  I wrote in the mortuary/Legacy so won't repeat myself here.  I will truly miss John, having known him since elementary school days.  What a wonderful guy!

I was just thinking about him on Thursday, hoping he was better. I loved how he always sent out birthday greetings to almost every person in the class and attended our lunches as often as he could. His wife Gae was wonderful for bringing him to these so he could continue his joy of being with other people as long as possible. He had endless enthusiasm and an uncanny ability to make friends. I loved his stories about his world travels with Gae. I will miss him, as I am sure you all will.

I was also really shocked, too. I, too, was thinking about John just 4-5 days ago.  I did not know about John's illness and that makes me sad.  I do recall him mentioning that he wasn't doing well a while ago and I hadn't seen any post from him on fb for a while, so I have been worried.  John was always so kind and good.  Rest in Peace, my friend.  Peace to all y'all!
