According to Doug Bagley, Dennis "Shorty" White died of cancer in June/May of 2009 and apparently requested no funeral or obituary. He was once married and had children, according to Doug.
Dennis attended the University of Utah where he received an electrical engineering degree in 1968. After graduation he worked for the Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.

As it turned out, Shorty wasn't exactly tall. But when he joined the class in Sixth Grade, he was one of the tallest in the room. Plus his voice was an octave lower than any other lad in the class. He could run like the wind, I mean he was really fast. He would have been a heckuva a football running back, but I don't think he liked the contact, the brutality of the game. He was quiet, not shy but not doing anything that would draw attention to himself.
Am I surprised he apparently wanted no obituary or memorial service? Not really. It fits neatly with his character.
