L. WAYNE "MOOSE" ANDERSON ELBA - L. Wayne "Moose" Anderson, 60 year old Herriman, Utah and former Elba resident died Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at his home in Herriman. He was born April 20, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Lawrence Leland and Elsie Denning Anderson. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army and throughout his training he ranked at the top of his class on three different occasions. He attended the University of Utah. Wayne married Susan Dunn on April 4, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an active member of the Church and had served in many capacities throughout his life including his service as a missionary for 2 ½ years in South Africa. Wayne was an Eagle Scout and was one of the first scouts to receive the Duty to God Award. He served in the Scouting program for over 30 years and enjoyed it very much. For over 24 years, Wayne and his family owned and operated the Connor Creek Store and Connor Creek Computers. Wayne loved outdoor recreation. He especially loved his horses, hunting and snowmobiling. Survivors include his wife, Susan of Salt Lake City, Utah; five sons, Ken and Tanya of Burley, Wayne, Jr. and Katie, Torrey and Melanie, Matthew and Nicole and Michael, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; his mother, Elsie D. Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Karen Mae Tidwell; three brothers, Kent, Theron, and Boyd; eight granddaughters; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Elba Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop William Loughmiller, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand View Cemetery in Elba. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main in Burley on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Saturday.
