Shirley Bernice Arnesen Worthen 7/8/45 ~ 5/5/03 ?Our sweet beloved mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother passed away May 5, 2003 after a courageous battle with several illnesses. She was born on July 8th, 1945 to Leon and Margaret Arnesen in Salt Lake City, UT. ?Preceded in death by her father. She married James Paul Worthen on Sept. 5, 1969. Later divorced. She had four children: Amy Jo Winn, Travis Paul Worthen, Debra A. (Chad) Butterfield, and Shane William Worthen; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Landon Savage, Angilia Williams, James David Winn, Gavin, Sydney and ?Hayden Butterfield. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had a strong testimony of the gospel which she loved sharing with everyone. She enjoyed spending time with her dog and companion, "Sable." She enjoyed and created stitchery and crocheting for those she loved. She was an avid reader of novels and scriptures. She will be loved and missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2003 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cottonwood 7th Ward, 5565 South Neighbor Lane, Salt Lake City. Viewing will be Thursday, May 8th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, also one hour prior to services at the church.
