James Hobson

James Ray Hobson, age 40, died January 6, 1986 at a Murray hospital.

James was born June 14, 1945 to James and Marion Millgate Hobson in Ely, Nevada. He married Lynda Sue Roper, later divorced; he then married Linda Beth Townsend, October 5, 1984 in the Jordan River Temple. He served an LDS mission to Northwestern States and attended the University of Utah. He was currently a member of the Union 14th Ward and was Men’s Sports Director in the Cottonwood Creek Stake. He was also involved in County Recreation Softball. He was employed as the General Manager of Beneficial International Health Care Company.

James is survived by his wife of Sandy, Utah; and his children; one daughter, Heidi Marie Hobson of Sandy, Utah; and three sons, James Ray Hobson Jr., Jonathan Frederick Hobson and Joshua Theodore Hobson, all of Bountiful and a child expected in March; his mother, Marion Hobson Cahoon and step-father, Glen B. Cahoon of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 1986 at the Cottonwood Creek Stake Center, 1535 Creek Road, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m. at Eastman’s, Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East First South and Thursday one hour prior to services. Entombment will be at Sunset Lawn Mausoleum.
